Starve the Candida

Eliminate foods that feed Candida such as:

Sugar | High carbohydrates | Gluten grains

Sugar

Eliminating sugar is the most important part of any Candida Program. Candida's main food supply is sugar and all forms of it such as lactose (contained in dairy products), honey, glucose, fructose, All fruits, except lemons, some vegetables such as carrots, yams, sweet potatoes, parsnips and beets, most processed foods such as smoked luncheon meats, ketchup, cereal, and yogurt.

The only sugar that may safely be taken is Stevia.

Sugar depresses the immune system. Vitamin C consumption helps curb sugar cravings.

High carbohydrates

Foods that are High in Carbohydrates feed Candida. High Carbohydrate Foods are starches and grains. An example of these are breads, pasta, pizza, cereals, baked goods, beans and potatoes. Some vegetables are also high in carbohydrates.

Grain foods such as wheat, rice, corn and oats are converted into sugar in the body causing grains to be as addictive as sugar.

We can obtain our energy from proteins and good fats alone. A good example of good fats is Cold Pressed Virgin Olive Oil and Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil. Proteins can come from meat and eggs.

Gluten Grains

Gluten intolerance is common amongst Candida sufferers. Many processed foods hide gluten. Gluten grains feed Candida just like sugar causing the cells to be resistant to insulin which leads to blood sugar problems like hypoglycemia, diabetes and high blood pressure.

Digesting Gluten is difficult and can cause intestinal damage. The damage caused by gluten along with the effects of yeast overgrowth, make the intestines incapable of absorbing nutrients.

Gluten-free grains such as buckwheat, millet and quinoa are also high in carbohydrates and should not be consumed until the end of a Candida Program. All grains should be properly prepared, soaked and/or leavened.

There are many Candida Diet Control Programs. I have added links to some of the best Candida Books available. Most of the programs have similar concepts to the one on this website. The one that I have used as a guideline is based on the Bee Wilder Candida Control Program as I believe it is one of the best - and it works!!!
